Share AUBURN, Ala. – Ty Megahee has joined the Auburn baseball staff for the 2009-10 season, Auburn Head Coach John Pawlowski announced on Tuesday. Megahee was previously at Monmouth University as an assistant coach/recruiting coordinator, helping the team to a regional appearance in 2009.
"We are very fortunate to have Ty Megahee join the Auburn baseball program. His experience as an assistant coach, recruiting coordinator and a trip to the NCAA Regionals last year will certainly help us as we continue to move the program forward," Pawlowski said.

Share Ole Miss will be hosting the Oxford Regional with Missouri (Big 12) as the two seed, Western Kentucky (Sun Belt) as the 3rd seed, and the 4th seed Monmouth (Northeast Conference). Ole Miss was tied for first in the SEC West. While Missouri finish third in the Big 12 and lost to Texas in the Big 12 Tournament Championship game.Western Kentucky was tied for first in the Sun Belt but lost in the semifinal of the Sun Belt Tournament. Monmouth finish fourth in the Northeast Conference but won that Conference Tournament. The winner of the Oxford Regional will be paired up with the winner of the Irvine Regional. Share NEC Preseason Favorite Monmouth eyes fourth- ever league crown

Somerset, NJ — Monmouth won five first-place votes to find itself in its familiar position atop the Northeast Conference baseball preseason poll. The Hawks have earned the moniker of NEC preseason favorite in three of the past four years. Central Connecticut State collected two first-place nods to finish second in the vote by the conference’s eight head coaches followed by Wagner which garnered the remaining first-place vote in third. The league office released the annual rankings on Thursday as a prelude to its 23rd season of Division I baseball.

Share The CBB is committed in bringing the very best content to the site. Today we have two schedules, Big Ten Iowa Hawkeyes and the Longwood Lancers, a Independent participant. We also have the fall schedule for Monmouth.
Iowa Hawkeyes
Iowa finished at the bottom of the Big Ten last year and will be looking to improves on those numbers in ‘09. Head Coach Jack Dahm and the Hawkeyes will kick off the 2009 campaign in the Big East/BIG Ten Challenged the weekend of the 20th of February. Iowa will face BIG Ten foe Illinois on Friday, Saturday they will square off against St John, then they will wrap it up with a contest against Georgetown on Sunday the 22nd of February.

Hempstead, NY- Hofstra scored three or more runs in the first three innings during which Matt Kougasian had four RBI and Nick Panzarella had three RBI as the Pride defeated Coppin State, 12-3, Wednesday afternoon. With the victory the Pride improve to 8-16 while the Eagles fall to 3-23.
Hofstra jumped out to a three-run lead in the first inning. After the first three runners reached base for the Pride, Kougasian drove a run home with a sacrifice fly for the first run. Somerset, NJ — Defending Northeast Conference champion Monmouth sits atop the 2008 NEC Baseball Coaches Poll as the favorite to capture its fourth league title. The Hawks received six first-place nods to finish ahead of Quinnipiac in the voting. Central Connecticut State, a three-time champion this decade, claimed third. Nebraska survived a late rally from Monmouth to win the elimination game from Monmouth on Saturday evening. Nebraska scored five runs in the seventh inning which was highlighted by a big two run double from Jake Opitz. Monmouth ends the season with a 36-24-1 record while Nebraska advances to play UC-Riverside on Sunday.

ASU 9 UC-Riverside 2
Mike Leach pitched a complete game while giving up two runs as the Sun Devils picked up a 9-2 victory over UC-Riverside. Petey Paramore led the Sun Devils offense by going 3-4 with 2 RBI as the Sun Devils advance in the winner’s bracket to take on the winner of the UC-Riverside vs Nebraska elimination game tomorrow.

UC-Riverside 10 Nebraska 5
The Highlanders picked up a solid 10-5 victory over Nebraska. They were led by Jaime Pedroza who went 2-4 with four RBI including a home run. UC-Riverside will take on Arizona State on Saturday while Nebraska battles Monmouth.
