KENOSHA, Wis. – The NCAA Division III members of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association have selected Pomona-Pitzer College first baseman Drew Hedman (Sr., Redding, Calif./Shasta) as the NCBWA NCAA Division III Hitter of the Year, while Trinity College’s Jeremiah Bayer (Sr., Greenfield, Mass./Deerfield Academy) was named NCBWA NCAA Division III Pitcher of the Year. LUBBOCK, Texas — The College Baseball Foundation has narrowed the list of players to 15 semifinalists for the Pitcher of the Year Award.
Stephen Strasburg of San Diego State continues to mow down hitters with his NCAA-leading 164 strikeouts and added a no-hitter to his list of accomplishments on May 8 in a win against Air Force. He is 11-0 with a 1.24 ERA in 87.1 innings of work. Read the rest of this entry »

LUBBOCK, Texas — The College Baseball Foundation announced today the 15 semifinalists for the 2009 Brooks Wallace Award, which honors the nation’s outstanding shortstop.

LUBBOCK, Texas — The College Baseball Foundation and Mizuno announced today the first watch list for the inaugural presentation of the Pitcher of the Year Award. The Pitcher of the Year will be honored during the College Baseball Awards Show on July 2 in Lubbock.

The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission announced the official watch list for the 2009 Coleman Company-Johnny Bench Award delivered by Papa John’s Pizza. Forty-four catchers were nominated for the award by their coaches.
