Share Yes, I post too much about new Maryland coach Erik Bakich but it seems that every time there is an article on him, we find a great quote in it from the new Maryland coach. The most recent article from The Diamondback Online talks with Coach Bakich about his aggressive style in recruiting the best players and coaches to College Park MD as he tries to turn around UMD program. He ended up getting one of the top pitching coaches in Sean Kenny from Pepperdine who agreed to come across the country to sleep on an air mattress in Bakich’s apartment for the last two weeks.

Share Jeff Duncan has left his position as a volunteer assistant coach at Auburn for an assistant position with the Purdue Boilermakers. Duncan spent the last school year with the Tigers coaching the outfielders and helping out with the hitters. Outfielder Trent Mummey won the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove while the team hit a school record 103 homers.
This is an interesting move as Purdue is looking to turn around the program after going 25-26 overall and 11-12 in the Big Ten which saw them finish in sixth place in the conference.
