The Miami Athletic Department announced today that long-time Hurricane baseball coach Jim Morris has been given a contract extension through the 2015 season. He will be entering his 17th season with the Canes baseball program in the upcoming spring where he has led them to 11 appearances in the College World Series including national championships in 1999 and 2001. This was not an unexpected move as Morris has always had competitive teams in Coral Gables and nothing should change in the upcoming season. You can check out the full press release below.

Moraga, CA – Saint Mary’s College Director of Athletics and Recreational Sports Mark Orr, announced a contract extension for head baseball coach Jedd Soto. Soto, the school’s third winningest coach since 1968, has received a three-year contract extension, which keeps Soto under contract through the 2012 season.
“I’m very pleased to continue Jedd Soto’s leadership of the baseball program,” said Orr. “The progress this program has had under his leadership has been impressive. His ability to recruit and develop quality student-athletes is something I look forward to seeing him continue to do for years to come.

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State Director of Athletics John Currie announced Wednesday that head baseball coach Brad Hill has agreed to a new multi-year contract, securing the services of the 2009 Big 12 Coach of the Year through the 2013 season.
The new four-year deal is retroactive to July 1, 2009, and extends to June 14, 2013. It replaces the four-year agreement Hill signed in 2007.

MILWAUKEE – University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Athletic Director George Koonce has announced that head baseball coach Scott Doffek has signed a new three-year contract.
Doffek just concluded his third season as the head coach of the Panthers. He was named the seventh head baseball coach in school history on Sept. 25, 2006.
"I am pleased that we have been able to agree with Scott Doffek on a new three-year contract," Koonce said. "Scott has given many great years of service to our department and university, and has led our baseball program to tremendous success. We look forward to having Scott with us for many years to come."

The Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees at the University of South Carolina has approved a one-year contract extension for head baseball coach Ray Tanner. The University of Missouri has signed Head Baseball Coach Tim Jamieson to a contract extension that will keep Jamieson at Mizzou through the 2013 season, as announced Tuesday by Director of Athletics Mike Alden. Jamieson will enter his 15th season as the Tigers’ head coach next spring with a record of 480-329-2. He needs just two victories to move into second place on the all-time wins list at Mizzou, passing former coach John “Hi” Simmons.
“We continue to be very pleased with Coach Jamieson’s leadership of our baseball program,” Alden said. “He truly focuses our team on our core values of academic excellence, social responsibility and competitive excellence.”
