Share Kendall Rogers of Rivals.com recently was able to acquire some nice aerial photos of New TD Ameritrade Park where the College World Series will be held starting in 2011. I was in Omaha for the 2009 CWS and thought that the new location for the CWS was much better then Rosenblatt which is located in a neighborhood with very little parking. The new stadium is right across the street from the Qwest Center which is 18,300 seat arena with plenty of parking around it.

Share The Creighton Blue Jays have announced that starting in the 2011 season they will play a portion of their schedule at the New TD Ameritrade Park Omaha and will play the entire schedule in the stadium during the 2012 season. TD Ameritrade Park will be the home for the College World Series starting in the 2011 season. This is a great move for the Blue Jays as this really upgrades the facilities for the baseball program and will give the opportunity to play on one of the best fields in the country during regular season games. I would also expect a strong move by the Missouri Valley Conference to move the conference tournament to this stadium in downtown Omaha. You can check out the full press release from Creighton below.

The baseball and softball fields at the Chapman Field complex are getting a makeover as the backstops and dugouts are being remodeled to upgrade the facilities. The removal of the current structures began on Monday as contractors began disassembling the baseball side first.
The entire process will take roughly two weeks from start to finish and will see the current chain link fencing on the backstops and dugouts come down while being replaced with brick dugouts and wall comprising the backstop. The fence will be replaced by netting that will allow a better view of the action as current support poles will be removed in favor of the net.

(PITTSFIELD, MA) – Wahconah Park is one of the oldest and most historic baseball stadiums in America. Fans have seen organized baseball on this site since 1892 and have witnessed future major leaguers in their prime on the way to the Major Leagues.
Hall of famer Carlton Fisk played at Wahconah Park in 1969 for the Red Sox minor league affiliate and future hall of famer Greg Maddux did the same for the Cubs in 1986.
The ballpark has also seen many famous visiting players as well, but now Wahconah Park is making history with a few new visitors.

Share The Topeka Capital Journal has a great article on the Topeka Golden Giants plans for the 2010 season with the Lake Shawnee Ballpark which serves as the team’s home. The Golden Giants are members of the MINK League and had early success this season before injuries riddled the squad. The Creighton University baseball program is looking at the option of playing their entire or part of their 2011 schedule at Rosenblatt Stadium. The stadium is set to be replaced during the 2011 college baseball season by a new T.D Ameritrade Stadium which will be the home of the College World Series starting in 2011. The move to Rosenblatt could see Creighton putting in a bid for the 2011 Missouri Valley Conference tourney and increase attendance for the Blue Jays. Read the rest of this entry »
