Share The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the list today with number 63 in our countdown with New Mexico junior catcher Rafael Neda. He is from Obregon, Sonora, Mexico and attended Amphitheater (Ariz.) High School. He has an outstanding high school career winning several awards including being named Kino Conference Player of the Year, All-American and All-State honors in 2007.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.–The University of New Mexico baseball team will host its annual Cherry-Silver Series this Tuesday through Saturday at Lobo Field. The Lobos will play a five game series with each game lasting seven innings. There is a lot at stake for Lobos on both sides as the culmination of the series will determine the final roster for the 2010 season. Head coach Ray Birmingham will closely observe the action and pick the squad that will make a run at the 2010 Mountain West Conference Championship.

Share Kendall Rogers of Rivals continues his series of articles on conferences with the Mountain West conference. The teams in the conference are looking to build on the national media attention that came to them last season as Stephen Strasburg was a member of the San Diego State Aztecs. They were not the only team from the conference to get a bid to the NCAA tourney as TCU made the Super Regional in Austin and Utah won the Mountain West conference tournament to get in.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.– University of New Mexico baseball coach Ray Birmingham and his staff have announced the signing of four more UNM baseball players. Freshmen Oscar Almeida, Arthur Nelson and Zak Miller and transfer Mike Lachapelle have signed National Letters of Intent to play with the University of New Mexico. All four were brought in for their abilities to touch 90 mph on the radar gun.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.– University of New Mexico head baseball coach Ray Birmingham and his staff have announced the 2010 Lobo baseball schedule. The 2010 schedule will feature some of the best teams in college baseball including; national runner-up and Big-12 champion Texas, College World Series participant Arkansas, USC, Arizona, Texas Tech, Mountain West regular season champion and Super Regional Qualifier TCU and 2009 MWC Tournament champion Utah. The Lobos are currently scheduled to play 31 games in the friendly confines of Isotopes Park.

Share Jordan Rawlyk (transferring from Monterey Peninsula JC to Sonoma State), Brandon Kaye (transferring from Douglas College to British Columbia) and Matt Bannister (British Columbia) combined for a no-hitter in a mercy-rule-shortened 14-0 win over The Bahamas.
Rawlyk went five innings, struck out seven, walked three. Kaye, who was drafted in the 45th round by the Blue Jays, pitched the sixth inning, and threw only five pitches. Bannister pitched the seventh inning.

OMAHA, Neb. – The American Baseball Coaches Association announced the ABCA/Rawlings Sporting Goods All-American teams on Wednesday, June 17.
Among the First Team honorees are six players participating in this year’s College World Series including Arizona State starting pitcher Mike Leake, LSU starting pitcher Louis Coleman, Arizona State catcher Carlos Ramirez, UNC first baseman Dustin Ackley, ASU outfielder Jason Kipnis and Virginia utility player Danny Hultzen.
