Bryan-College Station, TX (April 16, 2009) – The Brazos Valley Bombers received a boost today as they announced the signings of two players from the University of Tennessee-Martin. Drew Mason and Drew Flaniken will add depth and experience to a young Bombers club looking for a Texas Collegiate League title in just its third year of existence.

#9 LSU 2 Northwestern State 1
Sophomore Micah Gibbs drove in the game-winning run on a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lead No. 5 LSU past Northwestern State, 2-1, Tuesday in Alex Box Stadium.
Coming in to pinch hit for first baseman Buzzy Haydel with one out and the bases loaded, Gibbs drilled a 2-2 offering into the gap in right center field to break open a 1-1 tie and bring senior Derek Helenihi home for the victory.

The Texas State Bobcat baseball team scored a run in the bottom of the sixth, seventh and eighth inning to overcome a 2-0 Arkansas State lead and took a 3-2 victory from the Red Wolves Sunday afternoon at the UT Arlington/Hilton Invitational.

The Lumberjack baseball team kept the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils at bay for the majority of the afternoon, but MVSU was able to scrape across a run in the bottom of the ninth to pick up a season-opening 4-3 win over SFA at the rain-soaked ULM Warhawk Classic.
