DANVILLE, Ill. — When he arrived in Danville to join the Dans, Austin Nola brought with him plenty of memories from his school season at LSU.

Share Head Coach Scoot Googins Adds Nick Otte to Coaching Staff
CINCINNATI – Xavier baseball head coach Scoot Googins has announced the addition of Nick Otte to the XU coaching staff. He will serve primarily as the pitching coach for the Musketeers after serving three years as an assistant at Miami (Ohio).

Share The regular season for the WMBL is over, and the playoffs start on Friday, July 31. The Okotoks Dawgs won the West Division pennant with a 32-13 record, and they will host the Moose Jaw Miller Express in the first playoff round. The Swift Current Indians won the Central Division pennant with a 27-13 record, and they will host Yorkton Cardinals in the first round. The Melville Millionaires won the East Division with a 26-14 record, and will host the Regina Red Sox. The other first-round playoff matchup is Medicine Hat Mavericks at Lethbridge Bulls. UNCW Summer Baseball Update – July 24
Cody Stanley (Cotuit) – Stanley represented UNCW and Cotuit at the Cape Cod All-Star game on July 23 and finished the rain-shortened contest 0-2 and caught the first four innings of the game. Stanley knocked in the second run of the game for the West team with a ground out. He’s hitting .296 with 13 runs scored in the pitching dominated summer league.

NORMAN, OK- The No. 21 Arkansas Razorback baseball team pounded out a season high 20 hits including three or more from Ben Tschepikow, Scott Lyons, Andy Wilkins and James McCann to remain undefeated in the NCAA Norman Regional with a 17-6 victory over the No. 9 Oklahoma Sooners at L. Dale Mitchell Stadium in Norman, Okla., Saturday night.

The Oklahoma Sooners will host the 2009 Norman Regional at L. Dale Mitchell Park this weekend. The first game of the regional will be a rematch of opening weekend for Washington State and Arkansas. It was then that the Razorbacks swept the Cougars at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville. After Washington State and Arkansas square off in game one at 1 p.m. CT, host Oklahoma will take the field against the fourth seeded Wichita State Shockers at 7 p.m. CT. The Sooners won both regular season meetings with Wichita State this year by scores of 15-0 and 8-1.
The first elimination game is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. CT and will be followed by the winner’s bracket championship game at 7 p.m. CT. On Sunday, the 1 p.m. CT game will be for the loser’s bracket championship, and the first championship game will be at 7 p.m. CT. Read the rest of this entry »

Share The NCAA has released the 2009 regional host sites. The ACC earned four regional hosts: Clemson, Georgia Tech, Florida State, and North Carolina. Florida, LSU, and Ole Miss will be hosting from the SEC. The Big 12 will have Texas and Oklahoma as hosts, and Conference USA will also have two hosts: Rice and East Carolina. OKLAHOMA CITY — Shaver Hansen was 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI, leading Baylor to an 8-4 victory over Kansas in Saturday’s pool-play action at the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship at Bricktown Ballpark.
