PresbyterianCollege Clinton, S.C. – Presbyterian College head baseball coach Elton Pollock is proud to announce the 2010 slate of games which will feature 54 games and 22 home contests.

The season opener comes at the USC Upstate Tournament as the Blue Hose play Appalachian State on February 19. A day later, the Blue Hose face USC Upstate before closing out the weekend with the home opener coming on the 21st against USC Upstate.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State (35-12) scored early and often Wednesday night in cruising to a 15-5 victory over Florida International (30-19) on Mike Martin Field inside Dick Howser Stadium. The Seminoles tallied 11 runs in the first three innings as every FSU starter registered a hit as it was the first meeting between the two schools since 1991. We enter the final stretch of ACC play as many teams are taking the weekend off for finals or playing out of conference series so we only see Virginia Tech heading to Florida State and Boston College hosting Miami (FL) for the Friday-Sunday series. CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Coastal Carolina University’s baseball team has been voted the Big South Conference’s preseason favorite by the League’s Head Baseball Coaches, it was announced today by the Conference office. In addition, the coaches voted Radford senior infielder Alex Gregory (Great Falls, Va.) the Conference’s Preseason Player of the Year and Coastal Carolina junior Nick McCully (Lakeland, Fla.) the League’s Preseason Pitcher of the Year.

Ga Tech 11 Coastal Carolina 4

ATLANTA – Derek Dietrich collected three hits and drove in five runs to lead Georgia Tech (33-14) to an 11-4 victory over No. 15 Coastal Carolina (38-11) Sunday afternoon at Russ Chandler Stadium. The win helped Tech to its second-straight weekend series victory after defeating Wake Forest in two of three games a week ago.

Dietrich drove in runs in the first, fifth, sixth and eighth innings and hit his 14th home run of the season as the Yellow Jackets pushed their streak to 15-consecutive games with a home run. Dietrich is the only freshman in the Atlantic Coast Conference with more than 10 home runs this season and leads all freshmen while standing second in the league with 56 RBI on the year. Florida State at Clemson

The Florida State Seminoles head to Clemson SC for a Saturday-Monday series against the Clemson Tigers. The Seminoles enter with a 37-7 overall record while being 19-5 in the ACC. The Seminoles have been one of the better hitting teams in the country with a team batting average of .346. All-American catcher candidate Buster Posey is the top hitter on the team with a .470 average and a team leading 13 homers on the year.
