They will need to replace All-American Brian Matusz who was drafted in the first round of the 2008 MLB Draft. Josh Romanski also made the jump into the minor leagues after a strong career. We spoke with Rich Hill a few weeks ago to talk about the 2009 squad and you can read that article by clicking here. Read the rest of this entry »

Jim Morris looks to lead Miami (FL) back to Omaha

Jim Morris looks to lead Miami (FL) back to Omaha

Rivals.com continues their Top 25 countdown today with the Miami (FL) Hurricanes checking in at the 23rd spot. Last year, Miami (FL) was ranked in the Top 5 in the country throughout the year and held down the number 1 spot for several weeks. The Hurricanes have heavy losses in the lineup with Yonder Alonso, Jemile Weeks, Blake Tekotte, Adan Severino, Mark Sobolewski and Dennis Raben all leaving the program. The Hurricanes pitching staff looked on paper to be the strongest part of the squad but Eric Erickson ended up coming down with an arm injury which required surgery and will miss the 2009 season. Sophomore pitcher Chris Hernandez and Junior pitcher Kyle Bellamy will have to pick up the slack. Read the rest of this entry »
