wsu_thumb The Wright State Raiders enjoyed a successful 2009 season, posting a 33-30 record and earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament.  The 2010 campaign will begin with a round robin tournament at the USA Baseball Complex against Illinois-Chicago, LeMoyne, and Canisius (Feb. 19-21).  The following weekend the Raiders will visit the Clemson Tigers (Feb. 26-28) for a three game set.  Wright State will then take part in the University of Virginia Tournament against Virginia and Dartmouth (March 5-7).

The Big 12 had six teams in action on Wednesday.  The conference had a pretty good showing on the day, going 4-2 overall with some blowout wins.  Here is Wednesday’s Big 12 recap.

#11 Baylor 14, Prairie View A&M 1

WACO, Texas — Seventh-ranked Baylor sent 15 batters to the plate in an 11-run first inning and coasted to a 14-1, seven-inning victory over Prairie View A&M in midweek action Wednesday night at Baylor Ballpark. Baylor (18-7) improved to 5-0 all-time against Prairie View A&M (15-14) with the win.

Baylor’s 11-run first inning was one run shy of the school record for first-inning runs. The Bears enjoyed a 12-run first inning in the second game of a doubleheader March 17, 1986, against Dallas Baptist. Read the rest of this entry »

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis head coach Darin Hendrickson today announced the 2009 baseball schedule. The slate includes a date with Missouri at Busch Stadium April 1 and four games against regional foes at GCS Ballpark in Sauget, Ill. The CBB has come across 7 more College Baseball Schedules- Michigan, Columbia, Gardner Webb, St. Louis, Kansas, Southeastern Louisiana, and Virginia Tech.

Gardner Webb will play 36 home games out of a 56 2009 College Baseball Schedule. First up on the slate will be 4 game series against Canisius staring on the 20th of February.

Gardner Webb will get the Atlantic Sun Conference started with a series against Presbyterian. They will wrap the season on May 14th against Winthrop and then the Conference Tournament will start the following weekend.

The Saint Louis Athletic Department announced on Monday that they have hired Darin Hendrickson as their new Head Coach for Baseball. He comes from Central Missouri State where he compiled a 209-46 record in four seasons.
