I have been working on our Facebook and Twitter accounts recently to more accurately reflect our great website. Mark Rafferty and I were discussing how the goal for our twitter account is to have over 1,000 followers by the start of the 2010 baseball season. At the time I am writing this, we have 460 followers on Twitter and on Facebook we have 446. Click on the respective links below.

twitter-256x256 We have been working on some subtle changes to the site for the last couple of days. The most apparent one is the fact that there are two buttons now above each post so it is easy to retweet our articles on Twitter and post it to Facebook.

CBBLogo10 As new networking sites have started up, I have been able to start up a Facebook site and a Twitter account. Both of these are great ways to keep up with the news on the site and to share information with us. We also have a email subscription option for our readers where you receive an email every morning with all the news and notes from the previous day of news.

I have been playing with Twitter over the last couple of months seeing how it works. I believe we can use this in many different ways over the life of this website as I tweeted the Navy and Holy Cross game last week. We even had someone follow the updates so it was encouraging. As most of our readers know, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim starting pitcher Nick Adenhart was killed in a car crash early Thursday morning after having a tremendous outing against the Oakland A’s. His vechicle was hit by a suspected drunk driver which killed Nick Adenhart, Courtney Stewart, and Harry Pearson. The fourth person in the vehicle in Jon Wilhite who is currently in ICU but conscious. Wilhite played baseball for Cal-State Fullerton from 2004-2008. The reason I bring this to your attention is that Pearson and Wilhite are listed as members of our website’s Facebook group so they must have been fans of the site. Read the rest of this entry »

forumsI have relaunched our Forums after debating about it over the last year or so. I would like to have them really take off as we try to make the site the Ultimate Source for College Baseball News and Notes. The College Baseball Blog will be attending at least four games this weekend.I will be taking in the Holy Cross doubleheader on Saturday afternoon which features single games for the Crusaders against Quinnipiac in Game 1 and Yale in Game 2. Colin Weber will be taking in the Lamar and Texas State game on Saturday afternoon. I will be returning to action on Sunday with a trip to Storrs CT to take in the UConn and West Virginia series finale. I might also take in the Uconn and Northeastern game on Monday afternoon but am not sure about my schedule for the day yet.  Read the rest of this entry »
