The South Florida Bulls and UConn Huskies were set to face off in a winner’s bracket game today at the Big East Tournament at 4pm. The game would be eventually be postponed by that didn’t mean that players couldn’t have some fun. CLEARWATER, Fla. – The University of South Florida (33-23) baseball team won their first game of the BIG EAST Tournament by defeating Pittsburgh 12-2 in eight innings.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior Joe Agreste and freshman left-hander Jonathan Jones had stellar performances to lead the West Virginia University baseball team to a doubleheader sweep over Cincinnati on Saturday at Hawley Field.

Agreste’s four-RBI effort led the Mountaineers (33-14, 15-8) to a 15-9 victory in a back-and-forth battle in game one, and Jones (6-1) held a powerful Cincinnati offense to just one run on seven hits while striking out seven in 7.1 innings pitched in WVU’s 9-2 win in game two. TAMPA, Fla. – Senior Michael Hill (Proctorville, Ohio/Fairland) pitched eight innings and struck out eight men leading the University of Cincinnati baseball team to a 4-2 win over USF Saturday night at Red McEwen Field. The UC win handed USF its first home loss in conference play. Senior Jake Geglein (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) entered the game in the ninth inning and retired the side in order earning his seventh save of the season.
