Texas State 11 Southeastern Louisiana 0 SAN MARCOS – Steven Siers pitched seven full innings at Alumni Field blanking Southeastern Louisiana for his first career shut out, as the Texas State Bobcats run-ruled the Lions 11-0 Saturday afternoon in Hammond, La. Texas State wasted no time putting the first run on the board when Laurn Randell put a two-out base hit into right field at the top of the first. FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference baseball players of the week were named today by the conference office as first basemen Trey Hernandez of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and UTSA Trent Lockwood earn co-player of the week honors. For the third consecutive week Southeastern Louisiana claims weekly honors as starting pitcher Wade Miley receives his first accolade of the season, giving the Lions three awards on the year for top marks in the SLC. FROM PRESS RELEASE FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference Baseball players of the week were named today by the conference office as Southeastern Louisiana out fielder Cass Hargis and Lamar starting pitcher Tim Erickson claimed their first weekly honors of the season, marking four consecutive weeks for a new team and player claim weekly honors.

Southeastern Louisiana outfielder Cass Hargis hit safely in all five games this week, extending his hitting streak to nine games. The Lions’ leadoff batter hit .650 on the week, picked up an RBI in every game and scored in every game but one. The Meraux native had three multi-hit games getting a pair of hits against Jackson State before going 2-for-3 in Southeastern’s conference opener at Stephen F. Austin and posting a 5-for-5 day in game two against the Lumberjacks that saw his first career grand slam. Hargis, who began the week hitting .357 has his average up to .418.
