Aaron Fitt of Baseball America has put out his predictions for the 2009 College World Series. He expects two teams from the ACC in Miami (FL) and North Carolina to make it back to Omaha after strong 2008 campaigns. He has three teams from the West Coast to make it to the College World Series in Cal-State Fullerton, Oregon State, and the University of San Diego. Adam Zornes drilled a two-out, two-run homer in the top of the eighth to give the Rice Owls a 6-5 win over Texas A&M and earn their third consecutive berth in the College World Series in Omaha, Neb. more

The Texas AM Aggies head to Rice this weekend for the best of three Super Regionals between the in-state schools. The Aggies enter with a 42-14 record while going 19-8 in the Big 12. The Rice Owls enter with a 45-13 record and went 21-3 in Conference USA.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas- Kyle Colligan homered twice and Darby Brown drove in four runs to lead No. 9 Texas A&M to the NCAA College Station Regional title with a 13-5 victory over Houston Monday evening before 3,888 fans at Olsen Field.
The regional crown is the fifth in school history and moves A&M (46-17) into a best-of-three Super Regional matchup with Rice next weekend in Houston. 5/31/2008 - College Station, Texas- The UIC baseball team overcame a three-run deficit by scoring five times in the fifth en route to a 9-5 win over Dallas Baptist at the 2008 NCAA College Station Regional.
Texas A&M set a school record with six home runs and scored its most runs in an NCAA game since 1989 as the ninth-ranked Aggies downed Houston, 22-4, in a winner’s bracket game at the College Station Regional Saturday night before 5,202 fans at Olsen Field.
A&M (45-16) will play for the regional championship on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. against either Houston (40-23) or UIC.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Senior second baseman Ryan Lormand and junior first baseman Jimmy Cesario each went 4-for-5 to lead the University of Houston baseball team to a come-from-behind, 9-5 win over No. 2 seed Dallas Baptist during the first game of the 2008 NCAA College Station Regional at Olsen Field.
After falling behind 3-0 in the first inning, the Cougar offense rallied to take the lead with five runs in the fourth inning. After Patriots knotted the game at 5-5 with two runs in the seventh inning, the Cougars put the game away with four runs in the final two frames, including a three-spot in the eighth inning. The Texas A&M Aggies will be hosting the Regional in College Station this weekend sporting a 43-16 overall record while going 19-8 in the Big 12. Dallas Baptist got the second seed in the Regional after having a solid year as an Independent team as they went 37-17. The Houston Cougars are the third seed with a 39-22 record and 14-10 in Conference USA. The fourth seeded team is Illinois-Chicago who is 34-20 with a 17-6 record in the Horizon League. OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Sophomore David Hernandez chipped an 0-2 offering for an RBI single to cap a three-run rally and lead the Texas Longhorns to a come-from-behind 11-10 win over the Oklahoma Sooners in Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship baseball action at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark Saturday morning
With Texas trailing 10-8 in the bottom of the ninth, Jordan Danks and Kyle Russell drew walks from Jake McCarter to leadoff the frame. Chase Anderson came in to pitch for the Sooners and induced a pop up on a bunt attempt by Russell Moldenhauer for the first out. Brandon Belt reignited the rally with a single to rightfield, plating Danks and trimming the lead to 10-9. Preston Clark struck out looking to bring Hernandez to the plate with two outs. Hernandez swung at strike two in the dirt, but a wild pitch allowed Russell to score from third and put Belt in scoring position.
