IRVING, Texas — The Big 12 Conference has named 62 student-athletes to the 2008 Academic All-Big 12 Baseball Team, the league office announced.
Nebraska led the conference with nine selections — seven on the first team and two on the second.
Individually, Brett Scott ( Kansas State ) received special recognition for posting a 4.00 grade point average.
Nominated by each institution’s director of student-athlete support services and the media relations offices, the baseball academic all-league team consisted of 46 first team members combined with 16 on the second team. First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, and the second team are those who have a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas-The fifth-ranked Texas A&M baseball team saw its eight-game win streak come to an end with a 12-6 loss to Dallas Baptist Thursday night before 3,089 fans at Olsen Field.
With the loss, the Aggies fell to 38-8 on the year, while the Patriots improved to 30-13.

FORT WORTH, Texas - Matt Vern’s bid for the game-winning home run fell just short of the left center field fence and the #5 Texas A&M Aggies escaped with the 3-2 victory over the TCU Horned Frogs Tuesday night. A school-record 4,294 fans were on hand for the tightly contested game. The Aggies picked up an unearned run in the top of the ninth inning to break a 2-2 tie.
