Share The Tennessee Volunteers have released their 2010 schedule. The 56 game slate has the Vols playing thirty five home games, including fifteen home SEC contests. The Vols will begin the season at home against 2009 Regional participant Xavier (Feb. 19-21). The non-conference portion of the schedule is highlighted by two tournaments in Knoxville, one in which the Volunteers will host Binghamton and Kennesaw State (March 5-7) and the other in which Tennessee hosts Connecticut, Ohio State, and Marshall (March 12-14).

#9 LSU 2 Northwestern State 1
Sophomore Micah Gibbs drove in the game-winning run on a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lead No. 5 LSU past Northwestern State, 2-1, Tuesday in Alex Box Stadium.
Coming in to pinch hit for first baseman Buzzy Haydel with one out and the bases loaded, Gibbs drilled a 2-2 offering into the gap in right center field to break open a 1-1 tie and bring senior Derek Helenihi home for the victory.

HBU picks up its first win of the season to move to 1-13 on the year while TSU falls to 7-7.
HOUSTON – On a soggy day at Husky Field, the HBU Huskies defeated Texas Southern, 5-2, in a game shortened to five innings as a result of rain.
The game remained scoreless through three innings as neither team managed a hit before the fourth. In the top of the fourth, TSU got a leadoff walk followed by a double play. With two outs, the Tigers got two consecutive singles and a double to make it a 2-0 ballgame.

With the Season starting in a few weeks schools are still releasing and getting their schedule together. We have come across 7 more schedules; Virginia Commonwealth, Arkansas Pine Bluff, Prairie View A&M, Texas Southern, Jackson State, Alabama State, and Alabama A&M. We have all your schedules up top for DIV I,II,III and the NAIA.

The CBB is committed in getting the 2009 College Baseball Schedules. We have come across the schedules for Tulane, Texas Southern, North Florida, and Northern Iowa. Share New Orleans 18, Texas Southern 5
Johnny Giavotella was 3-for-3 with a home run and four runs scored, helping New Orleans eliminate Texas Southern from the NCAA tournament with an 18-5 victory Saturday in the Baton Rouge regional.
New Orleans (43-20) blew the game open in the bottom of the fifth, sending 11 batters to the plate and scoring six runs to take a 13-2 lead. Read the rest of this entry »

Share A walk, a bunt attempt, a double-steal and a home run. That’s just the bottom of the first, when LSU jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first game of the Baton Rouge Regional. The homestanding Tigers broke loose again in the fifth and sixth innings, and Texas Southern got on the board in the top of the sixth with an Earnest Rhone home run. Alex Box was filled with 6,536 fans as LSU advanced in the winner’s bracket, where it will face the winner of the Southern Miss-New Orleans matchup Saturday. The SWAC Tournament champions will face the loser of that game in an elimination contest.

Share The LSU Tigers finished the season on a massive 20 game winning streak. They have a 43-16 record and 18-11 in the SEC this year. The number 2 seed in the Regional is Southern Miss who has a 40-20 record with a Conference USA record of 15-9. New Orleans picked up the three seed with a season record of 42-19 and 18-11 in the Sun Belt. The final team in the regional is Texas Southern who won the SWAC Tourney to get in with a 16-32 record while being 7-17 in the conference. Read the rest of this entry »
