The team consists of seven pitchers, seven infielders, three outfielders, and a utility player. Phoenix, Ariz. – The Red team jumped on Blue team starter Mike Trout early on the final day of the 18U National Team Trials at Phoenix Municipal Stadium Wednesday and held on to win Game 5 of the series 8-2 in six innings.

With runners on the corners early in the first inning, a double steal by Ryan Curl and Wes Hatton put the Red team up 1-0 early as Curl reached home. With the Red team still threatening with a runner in scoring position with one out after a Jiovanni Mier groundout, Bobby Borchering punched an RBI double to left centerfield scoring Hatton and putting the Red team up 2-0. USA Baseball LogoPhoenix, Ariz. – For the first time during the trials the bats were silenced by the pitching and defense for both teams as the Red team came from behind to win 2-1 and even the series at the 18U National Team Trials at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.

The Blue team scored first in the top of the second inning on starter Trevor Bauer. Bauer began the second with a strikeout but a passed ball by catcher Marlon Mitchell on strike three allowed Colton Cain to reach first. GAME 1: RED TEAM 13 BLUE TEAM 11
PHOENIX, ARIZ.— In a game that saw a combined 24 runs on 29 hits at the USA Baseball 18U National Team trials, the Blue Team answered every call the red team put forth to draw first blood, winning game one of the trials 13-11 at Phoenix Municipal Stadium,.

The Red team jumped on veteran ace Ryan Weber (St. Petersburg, Fla.) early as they scored four runs in the top of the first inning. Wes Hatton (Norco, Calif.) got the Red team started with a lead-off single through the right side but was out at second as Jiovanni Mier (Pomona, Calif.) grounded into a fielder’s choice.
