Appleton, Wisc. - Sophomore Matt Sullivan (North Reading, Mass.) and senior tri-captain Guy Gogliettino, Jr. (Wallingford, Conn.) drew back-to-back bases loaded full count walks with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Trinity College Bantams edged the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays 5-4 in the NCAA Div. Trinity College was undefeated, and rested after a day off on Saturday. The University of Southern Maine had played two games Saturday afternoon, and its pitching was stretched thin. A good combination for the Bantams, who advanced to the 2008 NCAA Division III Baseball World Series on Sunday by topping Southern Maine in the New England Regional Final, 10-3. ABILENE, Texas - Mike Vass drove in five runs and Kurt Yacko shut the door
in relief for the third straight day as Chapman won a slugfest with Trinity
Friday at Walt Driggers Field. The win puts Chapman in position to play for
the NCAA Division III West Region Baseball title Saturday, which would be
the program¹s fourth straight.

Vass knocked in a 3-run home run in the third, which was part of a 5-run
inning for the Panthers. The Tigers 3-1 before Chapman took a 6-3 lead,
however, Trinity struck back with four runs in the bottom of third
highlighted by Dylan Early¹s fourth homer of the tournament, a 3-run shot
off Jordan Sigman and the Tigers re-gained the lead 7-6.

ABILENE, Texas - All-American Kurt Yacko and Patrick O¹Hail helped the No.
1-ranked Chapman Panthers end McMurry¹s season and a run for a West Region
title. Yacko struck out six and didn¹t allow a hit in the final 3.2 innings
in relief and O¹Hail hit a walk-off two-run homer in the bottom of the 12th
inning to give the Panthers a 5-3 win Thursday at Walt Driggers Field.

McMurry led 3-0 to open the game in the top of the second inning. Then,
Chapman scored a run in the second, third and sixth innings to knot the
score at three. However, no run crossed the plate until the bottom of the
12th with two outs when Jake Hurst and O¹Hail scored on O¹Hail¹s opposite
field homer to end the game.

ABILENE, Texas – Behind the arm of Evan Bronson and the bat of Dylan Early, the Trinity Tigers knocked off No. 2 seed George Fox University on the first day of the NCAA Division III West Region Baseball Championships Wednesday at Walt Driggers Field. McMurry University, the pre-determined site for the 2008 NCAA Division III
West Region Baseball Championships, was awarded a six-team tournament field
late Sunday night. The tournament will feature the No. 1 team in the nation
in Chapman University along with California State University-East Bay,
George Fox University, La Verne University, the hosts McMurry University,
and Trinity University.

All six teams are representatives of the west region, but a seventh west
region team, Linfield (Ore.), was shipped to the Central Region Tournament
site in Rock Island, Ill. The double elimination tournament begins Wednesday
at Noon.
