We had one of the best games in recent memory between Rice and Long Beach State last night which was won by the Dirtbags 1-0 in ten innings. Rice pitcher Ryan Berry went seven strong innings while allowing five hits and striking out eight batters. Long Beach starter Andrew Liebel outpitched Berry as he lasted eight innings also only five hits and one walk while striking out 11 batters. With the triumph, W&M claimed the series against UD and improves its record to 18-10 overall and 9-6 in conference play.

Columbia, S.C. - Freshman right-handed pitcher Sam Dyson struck out eight batters in a career-high seven innings and Reese Havens hit his seventh home run of the year as South Carolina defeated College of Charleston 5-3 on Wednesday evening at Sarge Frye Field. The Gamecocks improve to 16-6 on the year while the loss drops College of Charleston to 16-8. Carolina returns to action at home this weekend with a three-game series at Sarge Frye Field vs. Kentucky.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - A rally by the University of Louisville baseball team fell short Wednesday, as the No. 30 Tennessee Volunteers edged the Cardinals 7-6 on a chilly evening at Jim Patterson Stadium.
FULLERTON, Calif. - The 21st-ranked University of San Diego baseball team scored four unanswered runs in picking up a 6-2 win over No. 16 Cal State Fullerton Tuesday evening in a non-conference game at Goodwin Field.
DAVIDSON, N.C. - Sophomore Jay Honeycutt was 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs for the Davidson baseball team, but Virginia Tech used a six-run eighth inning to post a 14-10 victory over the Wildcats at Wilson Field Wednesday afternoon.
