
Gene Salazar- Assistant Coach-UT-Pan Am
The University of Texas at Pan American has narrowed their coaching search to four candidates. The most logical choice would be for Gene Salazar. Gene is currently the assistant coach at UT-Pan Am and has ties in South Texas. Salazar was a 4 year Letterman at St. Edwards University and was also the head Coach there from 1998-2002. St Edwards University is a DIV II school that is located in Austin, Texas. Coach Salazar served as the interim head coach of the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi baseball program this past season where he served as the recruiting coordinator in his first three seasons and assisted in all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the Islander program.

Due to a mixup by the Boston Red Sox, the ACC Baseball tourney has been removed from Fenway Park after a scheduling mixup between the Boston Red Sox and the Fenway Sports Group. The reason behind this is the fact that the Boston Red Sox gave the wrong dates to Major League Baseball and have scheduled games for that weekend. Read the rest of this entry »

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Tim Federowicz went 2-for-5 with three RBI and then recorded the game-ending strikeout with the tying run on third base to lift No. 2 North Carolina to a 12-11 win over No. 1 Miami and a series victory Saturday at Mark Light Field. Behind a home run and five RBI from Tim Fedroff and four hits and two RBI from Kyle Shelton, the Tar Heels (45-10, 22-7 ACC) built an eight-run lead through five innings and held off a late rally by the Hurricanes (43-8, 23-5) to win their third straight series against UM.
