PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Penn’s Jeremy Maas (Alpharetta, Ga.) perfected his swing in Florida and went on an absolutely torrid pace to lead the Quakers during the Spring trip, hitting .516 for the week – ending the trip with a .524 for average on the season. This week, the sophomore had multi-hit games in all but one contest, with three hits in three of the seven games played. He has at least one hit in all ten of the team’s games this season. Six of his 16 hits were doubles, and nine total went for extra bases. In Sunday’s game against Georgetown, Maas hit a three-run home run in the second inning to blow open a 2-0 game and pace Penn to a 5-0 lead that turned into a 9-5 win. For the season, Maas has a slugging pct. of .881 and an on-base pct. of .523 for an OPS of 1.404.

The CBB will be providing conference previews throughout the preseason. We start this week with the Ivy League. I know you would rather see us preview the ACC or SEC but I have a guilty pleasure for the Ivy League. It is very competitive baseball that is a must-see for a baseball junkie like myself.
